Exhibits

Rancho San Bernardo
The English sea captain and the daughter of the owner of El Rincon del Diablo, Captain Jose Francisco Snook and his wife Maria Antonia, were owners of more than 17, 000 acres, land grants from the Mexican government. Their homes, one on the rancho and the other in San Diego’s Old Town, were social centers for the times.

Learn more about this visionary couple, the important battle of San Pasqual which influenced California’s history, and imagine yourself in a 19th century world.

On display will be the famous Rancho Bernardo cannonball. Its authenticity is for you to decide! In addition, artifacts from the period and a replica military uniform will be exhibited.

Come explore the past! Rancho Bernardo Historical Museum at the Bernardo Winery is open to the public Tuesday 10-12, Friday 9-12 and Saturday 10-12, or by special appointment. For further information, contact Susan at 858 487 4599.
